Glamping for Everyone

With the weather getting nicer, it’s the perfect time to head out into the great outdoors for some rest and relaxation. However, that doesn’t mean you have to trade in comfort for time under the stars. Enter glamping. Glamping, short for “glamorous camping,” gives you the camping experience without sacrificing things like a real bed and running water.
Last summer, Hope and her family enjoyed a family glamping adventure at their Colorado Ranch. “Spending time outdoors is one of our fave things to do as a family, especially since we had kids. Before kids I was much less likely to camp!” noted Hope on Instagram. “We had the best weekend playing games, sitting around the fire, looking at the stars, and avoiding the rain!

Hipcamp

If you’re looking for flexible options in breathtaking locales like Yosemite National Park, Joshua Tree, or even the Catskills, Hipcamp is for you! This outdoor service is built around amazing experiences in locations all over the country. Their online system lets you research and choose a place to stay, based around the kind of outdoor experience you want. From RV camping to beach tents and even treehouses, they have something for all outdoor enthusiasts. They’re also committed to maintaining habitats and sustainability so you can rest easy knowing that you’re doing your part to support conservation efforts.
“It is essential to the future of our planet that much of this land remains undeveloped to maintain wilderness habitats and corridors that allow plants and animals to thrive and migrate naturally.” – from Hipcamp

AutoCamp

AutoCamp is a relatively new addition to the glamping world, featuring unique adventures in AirStream trailers. They’re perfect for a couple’s getaway, or a family trip to the woods – without all the gear (depending on location). What makes AutoCamp unique is the amenities, which are decidedly upscale but just for you. Their trailers come with spa-like bathrooms, catered food, and mid-century modern design vibes. They even come with WiFi! Check out their offerings near Cape Cod or the Russian River, and all over the country as they grow.

K.O.A

You read that right. Kampgrounds of America (K.O.A) is the largest system of privately held campgrounds across the United States and Canada. They’re currently celebrating their 60th year of connecting campers to beautiful locations. While most K.O.A. campsites are RV campsites, treehouses, or yurts, they expanded into glamping with Terramor, a resort with 64 canvas-and-wood tents.

Under Canvas

For those looking for a more upscale glamping experience. Under Canvas is the place for you. For example, you can try Under Canvas Moab. Moab National Park is tucked between Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Parks in Utah. Under Canvas Moab offers spacious luxury tents that can house up to four people. The service also offers picnic areas and grills, West Elm furnishings, and EV charging stations.
While going to an upscale glamping resort reduces the flexibility of choosing the region, there are several resorts that you can look at to find the glamping experience of your dreams. In fact, Under Canvas offers glamping options near other National Parks as well, including Yellowstone and Zion.

(Not quite the) final word on glamping

While these are some good places to start your glamping search, they aren’t your only options. Be sure to do your homework and find the best option for you and your family. Some locations limit the size of groups, the addition of pets, and others book up months (if not years) in advance.
No matter what you end up choosing for your glamping trip, it’s important to take some time to relax and give yourself some much needed self-care time with your family. However, if you’re more of a homebody, you can still find ways to unwind at home. Start with a tent (maybe with a nice rug and some comfy sleeping options) in your own backyard.
