Cool Weather Doesn’t Mean Neglecting Your Skincare Routine

Just because it’s getting cooler outside doesn’t mean it’s time to skimp on taking care of your skin. Your body still needs cleansing, exfoliation, and moisturization — even when it’s chilly out. Here are just some reasons why your skin still needs love and attention, all year long.

You Sweat All the Time

Yes, that’s right. You sweat! And that’s not just at the gym, but almost all the time, everyday. We sweat even when we sleep! That’s just part of your body’s way of cooling you off. Even if you’re not sweating at the beach, you still need to cleanse that skin morning and evening to remove dirt, oils, and makeup.

Sweating is normal, and can be a result of needing to cool down your body, or as a result of hormonal changes or even stress. Too much caffeine or even a good spicy meal can trigger sweating. Pregnancy can also make your body sweat more, so it’s important to replenish your fluids throughout the day to hydrate your body, inside and out.

Cold Air Can Irritate Your Skin

That cool breeze can actually chap and irritate your skin, causing dryness and redness. That’s not to say that autumn breezes are harmful, but any sun and wind exposure could lead to irritation. Dry air without humidity can mean chapped, red skin any time of year, in fact.

Hot Water Can Dry You Out
